Jess graduated in medicine from The University of Auckland and went on to complete her oncology advanced training in both Christchurch and Tauranga Hospitals. She undertook additional training in Melbourne, Australia, with a fellowship in breast and urological malignancies at Monash Health. Upon completion of this, she returned to Christchurch as a medical oncologist.
Jess is a member of various medical organizations and working groups including the European Society of Medical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group, the New Zealand Breast Special Interest Group and the New Zealand Genitourinary Special Interest Group.
