Dr Chris Wynne
Radiation Oncologist and Director (MB ChB, FRANZCR)

Oncologists are responsible for defining an appropriate care plan for each patient. They manage radiation treatment, symptom control and psychological support,  and co-coordinate other components of care such as surgery or chemotherapy.

A graduate of the University of Otago, Chris has worked in Australia, London, Singapore, and New Zealand in his 25 years of experience. He was Chief of Radiation Oncology at the National University Hospital in Singapore, where he helped develop a large department. He has been a Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology at Christchurch Hospital and is currently a member of the Multiregion Ethics Committee. As well as establishing the St George’s Cancer Care Centre he is a Director at the Christchurch Clinical Studies Trust. Chris’s clinical interests include breast, prostate and gastrointestinal cancer and the evaluation of high tech treatment techniques for cancer.
