Advanced Treatment Protocols

Advanced treatment protocols

We use advanced modes of high-precision radiotherapy that utilise computer-controlled linear accelerators to deliver precise radiation doses that enable us to deliver advanced treatment techniques protocols as standard practice:

Intensity Modulated Radiation Treatment

IMRT is a technology that delivers precise radiation to the treatment site or specifc areas within the site. IMRT allows for the radiation dose to conform more precisely to the three-dimensional shape of the treatment site by controlling the intensity of the radiation in multiple small volumes. IMRT also allows higher radiation doses to be focused to regions within the treatment area while minimising the dose to surrounding normal critical structures.

Volumetric Modulated Arc Treatment

VMAT is a technology that allows us to deliver efficient doses of radiation to the treatment site. It differs from other techniques as it delivers radiation to the whole volume, rather than slice by slice. The dose is delivered precisely through a single 360-degree rotation of the linear accelerator gantry.
